Bestie, as always, the girl has like a 150 IQ at least, proposed a great question: why some folks lives are spared and others are taken and how God is related. Another way to look at it is the age-old question why bad things happen to good people? I will try to follow Stonewall's father's suggestion and loose the "fluff" this entry.

The main thing I have come to know is bad things do not come from God.

Again I will repeat the scripture my Dad lead me to-John 10:10 says the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy but I come that you might have an abundant life.

It is so easy to confuse the thief (satan) with God. Just think of all the people we see wrapped in scripture quotes, leading "holy" lives who may be secretly filled with hate or envy and not abundant Love for all humanity. I certainly find myself captivated by the thief in all different ways in my life. So how does satan get in our affairs you might ask..I am still working on this....maybe we will explore this together...but I do know there is a huge difference between God which is Love and satan which is the exact opposite.

With my parents Jay, Jeff, Aric, and I all had near death experiences and we all lived.
With my Mom's brother Mike & his wife Debbie their son Jordan died in high school.

Same two families, genes, beliefs, faiths and very different outcomes with their children.

How is God involved? He does not kill, destroy, or steal. The Word says this.

I also know many people who lost their parents in elementary school or high school and do not know why. I guess it brings us back to Life is One Beautiful Mystery! How can death/bad things/bad thoughts/really anything that in not peace be beautiful you may be thinking...I know I am...maybe it is not death but how we allow God to heal...

Perhaps one grows closer or more connected to God through a terrible experience. Perhaps later it will be known that the death ended up sparing that person from things down the road that we knew nothing of. Perhaps it allows wonderful friendships, relationships, ministries to develop to other folks who have also been in the same situation and know the pain no one can understand if they haven't been through it. Perhaps and mostly... maybe life's struggles, inner and outer, ya know the battle you deal with almost daily... gives great compassion for others and the ability to encourage and instill hope and Love God and spread his Word that he is Love and death, destruction, and loss are of the exact opposite side.

Romans 8:28 says God will work all things for our good if we love & trust Him. One of my Mom's favorite quotes...and so very true: if there's the free will folks if :we love and trust.

And, last, as much as most of us see death as a terrible thing - if we believe in
God, it is a wonderful thing to go home to Him and be with Him for eternity.

I guess what I'm saying is let's start working together, connected to God, to defeat the thief in our thoughts, words, and deeds. Let's get honest of where satan has the strongest hold in our lives and find freedom!!!

we release control and dive into the surrendering of Life's Great Mystery!
