kindness manifested toward others:ephinany

"Only that day dawns to which we are awake." Henry David Thoreau's quote brings me to Jim Morrison's "How many of you people know you're alive?" tag line which leads me to The Word Luke 20:38 "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive."

All are alive. In definite relationship with Him. Chosen. Alive. Awake. Loved.

It is already decided; all we have to do is accept.

To be more like Jesus.
To be with Him.
To know He will never hold us back nor abandon us.

I don't think I am ready to be evangelical but the story of a person wanting to be a good student must begin by "pretending" to be a good student-go to class, carry books, study, etc. and then one day wakes up and is in fact a good student rings clear.

If we want reconciliation to God.
If we want kindness manifested towards the difficulties in our lives.
If we want to take a leap of faith somehow, somewhere.
If we want freedom that comes with everlasting Life.
If we want any hope what-so-ever of peace in ALL our relationships.
We must make steps toward Christ.

Ok enough evangelism but seriously this is a new year and what other resolutions have we come up with? Get skinnier (take up less space), get richer (worry and have more greed), get...the list goes on. Why not try something anew?

If deep down we have any inkling of desire for the radiance of our Messiah to lift up our hearts, we must receive His help.

If we long to walk in His beauty at all, we must begin to try to accept His Mercy.

If we wish for Angels to be with us and guide us in peace, can we not wait any longer to get present to His Truth.

If we Hope for the light to grow stronger and dark to lessen, can we not begin Loving Prayer.

If we want healing, why not begin with a weekly communion?

If we want health and happiness, must we try every possible avenue before actually turning to Him? The True Savior and Redeemer.

If we want success, must we define it, get our worth from it, of this world and not His?

So nothing is promised to be perfect here on earth. Never once does The Word include life gets "fixed" with Christianity. Or that we get "fixed." Lord knows I am as retched as ever. Just ask hot man these days at the end of my pregnancy so full of hormones and doughnuts I don't know what to do with myself.
There are no clauses of pure contentment, or beauty, or perfection for our life on this plant of at best chaos and craziness. I guess the best I can find is Hope.

For the New Year my Hope is in Christ Jesus, Mi Lord.
Loving God, when I am with another help me to remember every time to ask "Shall we pray together?!" or "Will you pray for me?" or "May I pray for you?"
When I am with another help me to remember every time to listen with You.
When I am with another help me remember every time You are with us and we are never alone.
When I am with another help me to hear You through them.
When I am with another help me to be genuinely joyous.
When I feel alone help me move through the fear.
When I am overwhelmed help me stay present.
When I am scared help me Lord!!!
When I sin help me to ask for forgiveness.
When I am sinned against help me to forgive immediately.
When I am desperate help me find Church, Holy Communion, Praise, Fellowship and Worship.
Help me to put my ego aside and fall to my knees every time.
Amen.
Happy 2009!
