rest

Lets rest together this winter.
Lets surrender to the rush.
Lets make fires.
Drink wine.
Toast our health and happiness.
Lets not spend money.
Lets not obligate ourselves.
Lets enjoy the sweet soft healing only resting in Love can provide.
If we need justification to not do anything at all, to not busy ourselves, to not worry with anxiousness, to not fret well then here goes...

Exodus 33:14 The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

2 Samuel 14:17 "And now your servant says, 'May the word of my lord the king bring me rest, for my lord the king is like an angel of God in discerning good and evil. May the LORD your God be with you.' "

Job 8:6 if you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your rightful place.

Psalm 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Psalm 33 21-22 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD,
even as we put our hope in you.

Psalm 62:1 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.

Psalm 62:5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him

Psalm 80:3 Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.

Psalm 116:7 Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.

Song of Solomon 1:13 My lover is to me a sachet of myrrh resting between my breasts

Isaiah 30:15 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength

Rest for the Weary
25At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

27"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Matthew 11:28-30 28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Titus 1:3 1Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— 2a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 3and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior

Hebrews 4: 9-11 9There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. 11Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.

1 John 3:18-20 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 19This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

Cheers to restoration and renewal this winter together!!!
